Experience

The Temple Experience

The triple-arched gateway of Shri Damodar Temple with Naubat Khana

The road from Quepem winds through verdant countryside — coconut groves, areca plantations, and laterite hillsides — before arriving at the peaceful village of Zambaulim.

The temple announces itself through a striking triple-arched gateway with the Naubat Khana (drum house) above. Inside, a spacious courtyard holds the Tulsi Vrindavan and the towering Deepa Stambha lamp pillar.

The carved Sabha Mandap leads toward the sanctum, its laterite pillars adorned with Mahabharata scenes and Bhagavad Gita inscriptions. The moment of darshan — standing before Lord Damodar where the Shiva Linga and Lakshmi Narayana reside together — is profoundly moving.
